Born and raised in Los Angeles, Ann is a Cuban-American filmmaker and artist.
Having spent her college years developing her visual sensibilities in museums and galleries. Upon graduation, Ann began her post-graduate career at KCET, Los Angeles’ local PBS station. Through her work at KCET, she earned two LA Emmy nominations for “Who Killed Josiah?” and “City Rising: Youth Democracy”.
Through her narrative work, she utilizes horror and magical realism to electrify the mundane. Her first directorial project, “Arroró” followed a woman through the harrowing experience of taking a pregnancy test. Completed in 2021, “Arroró” earned Ann a spot in Hola Mexico Film Festival’s Tomorrow’s Filmmakers Today fellowship. Earlier this year, Ann finished her second short, “Omw home”, about a woman walking home at night.
Thanks to the success of her two shorts, Alliance of Women Directors was invited to participate in their inaugural Mentor Latina Directors cohort.
